So here we are, last day of the year. I guess I am, like so many others, compelled to look back and reflect on this year, which for me has been quite the extraordinary one! A year filled with many exciting highlights, some challenges, which in the end brought me to where I am right now. It was a year of travel, a year of meeting interesting people (yes, I got to meet the Queen of England;)!), but especially a year of pursuing my dream of becoming a wedding photographer! If you've been following my Instagram account (which you should be;)) you will know a bit more about my year, as I did a bit of a personal recap this month. I am amazed at how much can happen in only one year and I truly have a lot to be thankful for this year!
In particular, I am so thankful for all the people involved in my life, especially this year. All of my lovely clients, the couples that put their trust in me to photograph their very special day and my friends and family that supported me throughout all the ups and downs.
When I look back to exactly one year ago, I was about to board an airplane for a month long trip to south east Asia. I had just finished my Master's degree in Urban Design and I had no clue what was going to be happening further down the line; all the decisions I was about to take, all the opportunities that opened up throughout the year. I guess that's the beauty of New Year's Eve, it's a fresh start to something you might not even be aware of yet. Even though I already have plenty of things to look forward to in 2016, there is no way of knowing what will actually happen. How will I think of 2016 in exactly one year? I hope of course that it will be just as exciting and eventful as this year, but that will remain a secret for now.
I wish everybody a wonderful new year! May 2016 be filled with all the things that are important to you!
